Partner visa (onshore)
For the spouse or de facto partner of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen, applying in Australia. You apply for the temporary (820) and permanent (801) stages together.
Overview
With this visa you can
- Live, work and study in Australia while the permanent stage is processed
- Travel to and from Australia as often as you want
- Once the 801 is granted, stay permanently and apply for citizenship, if eligible
