Purpose

This form is used to apply for a Bridging E visa, which regularises the status of a person who is unlawful or would otherwise have no lawful basis to remain, while a substantive visa application, review, or ministerial intervention is resolved. It may also be used to change the conditions of a held Bridging E visa.

The applicant seeking the bridging visa, or a person authorised to act on their behalf; family members who are members of the family unit may be included.

When it is used

Used by people in Australia who need lawful status while awaiting a substantive visa decision, judicial review or ministerial intervention, or who need to replace a ceased Bridging E visa or change its conditions, and who cannot apply through ImmiAccount.
