A Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) for India is issued by the Passport Seva system of the Ministry of External Affairs. Applicants inside India apply through the Passport Seva Portal and attend a Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra; applicants outside India apply through the relevant Indian Mission or Consulate.

Processing times vary by whether police verification is required. Carry your Aadhaar and passport, and keep the receipt — the Department of Home Affairs asks for a PCC covering the periods you lived in India.

Australian immigration health examinations are conducted only by panel physicians approved by the Department of Home Affairs. In India these are performed at approved clinics in major cities, and results are lodged electronically through eMedical.

Where your application requires health examinations, you will usually receive a referral letter (HAP ID). Book with an approved panel clinic, bring photo identification and the referral, and the clinic uploads results directly — you do not send anything to the Department yourself.
