Published nomination requirements

As published by the program for 2025–26, in addition to the Department of Home Affairs criteria for each visa subclass.

  • Tasmania accepts any occupation on the Commonwealth skilled occupation lists for most pathways; the subclass 190 Tasmanian Skilled Employment (TSE) 'Priority Roles' option additionally requires a skills assessment in an occupation on the TSE Priority Roles list.
  • TSE pathway: working in Tasmania in a role closely matching the skills assessment (same 3-digit ANZSCO group) for at least 9 months — 6 months for teaching, health and allied-health roles in a school or healthcare setting.
  • TSE pathway: pay of at least $57,000 a year or $28.85 an hour (excluding overtime, penalties, bonuses and casual loading) with an average of at least 20 hours a week.
  • Living in Tasmania, with no dependants living in another state.
  • Registrations of Interest are ranked by published priority attributes (Gold/Green/Orange passes).
  • Nominees commit to living in Tasmania for at least two years after nomination approval.
