Published nomination requirements
As published by the program for 2025–26, in addition to the Department of Home Affairs criteria for each visa subclass.
- Occupation on the ACT Nominated Migration Program Occupation List (105 ANZSCO unit groups in 2025–26, reduced from 152). PhD graduates of ACT universities are exempt from the list requirement.
- At least 65 points on the Department of Home Affairs points test AND at least 65 points on the ACT's own Canberra Matrix (residence, employment, English, study, family ties and other published attributes).
- Subclass 457/482 visa holders must have worked at least six months with their sponsoring ACT employer before submitting a Matrix.
- Nomination application fee of AUD 300 (2025–26).
- The ACT issues subclass 491 invitations before subclass 190 invitations.
